When naming your 2nd or subsequent baby are you or did you take into account your other children's names?

Im expecting my 3rd daughter at the beginning of June and my two daughters are called Grace and Ella.

When anyone asks if we have thought of name for her yet and we talk about the names we like and are considering they always go oooh you can't call her that it doesn't match your other daughter's names.

I do think Grace and Ella go nicely together for sisters but we had always like the names for girls before we had them and they are family names as well but now we are on baby number 3 the two girls names that were definite and loved have been used so we are finding it hard to find the perfect name, in our opinion, for baby number 3.

Did you take into consideration or will you take into consideration your child or children's name when naming you future children?

In your opinion do your children's names 'match' and go well together?

We were just going to give her a name we liked before people started saying this too us.

We are just going to go with names we like. They will end up flowing well together either way I think.

Also I think it is a bit daft when parents give their children names that are too matchy.

My daughter is called Scarlett and I think it would be quite hard to find a name that went with or matched with that unless we went with the colour theme or something and called our next daughter Ruby or Jade but I Think that would probably be just too OTT lol.

The only time I would consider another child's name is if they were just too similar like Kayley and Kayla
Reply:We have a combined family and my husbands kids are Jessica and Joshua - both starting with J and ending with A.

My daughter is Kallida - starts with K and ends with A. When we found out we were having a girl we tried to come up with a name that started with K and ended with A. and came up with Katanna. so now we have two J and A's and two K and A's - maybe a little corny but works for us
Reply:We and my fiance's first names start with a K so we decided that our kids names would also start with K's. We have a Kaya and a Kloee and if we ever have a third he/she would also have a k name. When we named our second we did say the names together.
Reply:they sort of do, i thnk.

i have one boy, Nate.

If i had a girl she would be called Eden

And another boy would be called Caleb.

i know what you mean though.. you wouldnt call one child "Henry Luke Mark John...." and the other one "jaden" lol. they wouldnt look right!!! lol!

:)
Reply:I have four daughters, the first two are Christine and the second Carli Anne, well, we decided to stick with the C's so we now have Caryn and Crystal. They are all grown up now and love their names, in fact, I now have eight grandchildren, so far.
Reply:Ha! Basically just name her whatever you want! My kids are named Kloe, Lachlan (those are my stepkids and i had no choice) then we have Charise, Lucius %26amp; Elouise.... none are really similar but when you say them all together they flow... you'll know u've got the right name when you say all the names together and they just seem natural... :)
Reply:My younger two "match." They both have very classic names -- Margaret (Maggie) and Katherine (Kate). My oldest daughter has more of a trendy name - Breanne (Brie). I wish my oldest would have more of a traditional name -- oh well! Her name fits her personality very well, though!
Reply:we picked names we liked

we think they go together
Reply:my cousin did, she had twins.

and she named them

Juylana %26amp; Jeovannhi

pronouced : juliana %26amp; giovanni
Reply:We pick what we like best...i mean its not like their twins and won't be grouped together all their lives
Reply:i don't think it matters. our son's name is Caleb if our next child is a girl we like Katelyn i know everyone is going to think that it should be with a "C" but i personally don't like that spelling. my parents named my sister and brothers Jennifer, Brian, Matthew, Crystal (me), and Travis. none of those names really 'go' together but i'm so used to it they flow well. pick whatever you want once you start saying their names together they will sound 'together'
