What was the name of this children's story book that looked like a mead composition notebook?

the story was about a girl who was traveling on this roadtrip with her feeling and in this composition book she glued in her souvenirs, etc in them. This has been killing me and my friends for FOREVER! This book was sold at one of those scholastic book fairs.

"Amelia's Notebook" by Marissa Moss

http://www.amazon.com/Amelias-Notebook-A...

"...upbeat, first-person story to resemble a real diary; the cover bears the familiar black-and-white abstract design of a composition book, decorated with color cartoons by Amelia, the book's nine-year-old "author." Inside, on lined pages, Amelia writes about her recent move to a new town, doodles pictures of people she meets and saves such mementos as postage stamps and a birthday candle. She misses her best friend, Nadia, but her moments of sadness are balanced by optimism-she distracts herself by drawing and by writing short stories. In appropriately conversational terms, Amelia complains that her big sister invades her privacy ("So Cleo if you are reading this right now-BUG OFF and STAY OUT"); gripes about cafeteria food ("Henna says they use dog food. I believe it!"); and jokes in classic elementary-school gross-out fashion."

What is the name of the children's book about a boy who is afraid of everything?

I am looking for the title of the book that my mom used to read in the early 1990s about a little boy who is afraid to go on the escalator because he thinks his shoe laces will get stuck, and he is afraid to take a bath because he thinks his hair will get sucked down the drain. If anyone knows that book title or author please let me know.

Are you sure it's a book and not a Shel Silverstein poem? Since his poems tend to get a bit over the top like that.

Can you help name a children's book about playgrounds?

Sometime in the 80s (or maybe early 90s) my grandparents had a children's book about different kinds of playgrounds. It described parks and playgrounds in the city and the country. One had water fountains, one had lots of space to run, one was small and didn't have any grass, one had a grill to cook on, etc. It was a picture book maybe 20 pages long or so. No one in my family could remember anything about it. I loved the illustrations and thought my son - who loves parks - would like it too.

Can you help name a children's book about playgrounds?
I have 2 possible suggestions.

What is the name of a children's book that has a girl who invents a language?

I read this book in 8th grade where there is a girl locked up in some sort of institution that has invented her own language. She writes journals in the institution, but writes it in her own language so the officials can't read it. There are a few other kids that have other quirks, and they all try to escape. Unfortunately, that is all I can remember, except that I think the cover is green, and it is a sort of thin book. Does anyone know the name of this book?

What is the name of a children's book that has a girl who invents a language?
Is it "Welcome to the Ark" by Stephanie S. Tolan? I've read this book before, and it has a girl like that, as well as a few other talented kids. It's not one of the most memorable books I've read, but I think this must be the book you're looking for.
Reply:"I Never Promised You a Rose Garden" by Joanne Greenberg?

http://www.amazon.com/Never-Promised-Ros...

(Deborah made up a language from her imaginary Kingdom of Yr)

"I Never Promised You a Rose Garden presents a complete picture of mental illness from the patient's point of view, without the stigma of wrongness that is frequently associated with it. The picture painted is a very real one, from Deborah's relief when the doctors confirm what she's known all along, that something is not right, to the way her family deals with the fact of her illness. Greenberg/Green evokes very strong emotions with her writing. You feel Deborah's fear that her secret world of Yr will punish her for revealing its existence to her doctor, and you share in her triumph when she begins to make her way back to the world. I put down this book with a little more understanding of how it must feel to be mentally ill. I would recommend it to anyone, teen or adult."

Father-In-Law wants control over our future children's last names?

My fiance and his father do not have the same last name. They have not always had the best relationship, but they've gotten a lot closer these last few years. I have never gotten along with my fiance's father, because he's a jerk. His attitude is "my way, or the highway". He's recently told my fiance and I that he wants our future children to have his last name, and not my fiance's. He even went so far as to say that if we didn't give them his last name, we would be cut out of his will (our kids too). My fiance doesn't seem to care either way, but I feel like since he's spent all his life as a "Jones", then that makes him a Jones now. I like my fiance's last name much more than his fathers, and it's going to be my name too. If it means this much to him, he should have changed his son's name years ago, as his mother was ok with it. It would be one thing if he'd ask nicely, but he's threatening us to get his way, so I told my fiance no. Am I being unreasonable? What would you guys do?

Father-In-Law wants control over our future children's last names?
. It's YOUR family. Do it YOUR way .. and your fiance's.

Do NOT be intimadated by Daddy. He'll push you around forever if you give in.
Reply:you are being perfectly reasonable. does your fiance not care if they carry his name?? so they will have your father in law's name but not yours?? that is asking too much, maybe he shouldn't have let his son out of his life and raised him. and now you wouldn't be having that problem. your future kids should have your fiance's last name, which will be your last name as well.
Reply:go with your fiance last name due when something happend to him you can file for your ssi payment in his name no matter what pleasw dont put your kid in his father name cause it s going to be alot of confusion with the state.
Reply:I think you should decide between you and your fiance and if his father wants to be a jerk, there is not a lot you can do about it. There is no point calling them something you don't want to in case you get something in a will, because ultimately that's what it comes down to now that the threat has been made in that way. I would rather have a happy relationship and kids/family than some money or material things in a will. You have to decide what is more important to you.
Reply:well I personally would tell the old man to shove his will up his *** money is not that important to me neither are objects like his house etc.

But if you are concerned about being cut out of the will cause he is super wealthy or want his home how about a compromise like hyphenate it for example if you fiance last name is williams and his fathers is jones and you had a Little boy you could name him say..... Michael Jones-Williams or a girl could be Victoria Jones-Williams get what I am trying to say maybe that would make everyone happy good luck and try to be civil with him it will be your future kids grandpa you know even if he is a jerk realize when you visit you are not living there just have to be civil for a while.

Why people in America do not name the children鈥檚 after the parents and grand parents?

Why people in America do not name the children鈥檚 after the parents and grand parents?

To me it mines that do not love the families and they refuse to hnomer them? If you not name you family how you going to remember them and how you remember ther names after they die? How can they continuo the family tree? And how can you give fathers name to you children鈥檚, and call them no. 1 no.2? don鈥檛 you thing is stupid. To me is jus mean lees, and ignore. Tell me.

Why people in America do not name the children鈥檚 after the parents and grand parents?
Well, it has nothing to do with not loving their family, or not wanting to honor them. You honor your family through your actions, not through a name. Some names are just getting to be old fashioned. Besides, I feel it gives children a sense of individuality to be given a name, chosen special, just for them. Your family tree really doesn't have anything to do with the name, ti continues as your children have children, and then they have children, and so on.
Reply:Well, I think some people still do this. As for in my family, my Mom didn't want to name my brother after my Dad because she didn't want to call her son 'Junior' all his life. If you're referring to last names (family name), it's still fairly common for the child to have the father's last name, sometimes both the mother's %26amp; the father's, occasionally they don't use the father's. Hope that helped.
Reply:My dad was named after his dad but myself and my brothers have names that are unique to them. I guess some parents just want their kids to have a unique name that no one in their family has ever had, it makes life more interesting. It would be boring if the same names were used over and over again in the same family, but there's still lot's of people who name their children after their parents or grandparents.
Reply:I was named after my biological father, a man who left before I was old enough to have any memory of him! I think naming a child after a parent is one of the worst things you can do to a child! I've still never met the man for whom I was named, although I've had opportunities. My theory was if he spent years without trying to contact me, why should I have any interest in meeting him?

I legally changed my name years ago, I didn't even retain the surname!

My grandfather was the third to bear his name, but was from an abusive household and never spoke with any member of his family after he ran away at 16 to enter WWII. He hated having to wear the name of the man who had caused so much grief to both himself and his siblings as children.

Having said that, I also have other family members named for grandparents and such, and they all go by either nicknames or names to which they've changed as they find their birth names too old fashioned!
Reply:I think you may have meant to put this in another category.

Who cares if you honor crazy names in the family tree. Some names need to just die with the ancestor who was stuck with them in the first place.

and you don't like having Jr, Ist, 2nd and 3rd?

why? you like keeping great grandpas name but not the fathers?
Reply:Well, sometimes they do with middle names... But names are strictly preferential of the parents; there's not much culture to that, and it's not your place to say how we do things (especially something so trivial as naming children) is stupid or not.

You say we're idiots? You're making a huge deal about how WE name OUR kids... Yar, you got me there, buddy.

I respect your country and your culture, and more importantly your rights. Now, you can respect ours, or you can get over it.
Reply:One great thing that we have here i the USA is freedom to name our children what we want. IF we want to honor our family members with family names we can. However, if my last name was Pigg or Hogg I probably would let the child have my maiden name. My grandson was named after his great grandfathers, my father and my husband's father, and the name has made him miserable all his life. He never knew either man. Although these two men were some of the greatest men in the world, the child doesn't like the name. So why do that? We are intelligent people here in this country and we enjoy our freedoms. If you don't appreciate our ways, keep it to yourself.
Reply:People remember by looking at old pictures? Also some people do name their children after themselves. Secondly what if you don't want to honor your family? Also, I don't think someone named their kids no. 1 and no. 2.
Reply:I'm the 4th?

I plan to name my second son my name (not my first, just so it's something random) if i ever decide to have a son...
Reply:I named my oldest daughter after two great-grandmothers and one grandmother and my youngest is named after another grandmother who happened to share a middle name with a grandfather.

Who says we don't honor our families!?!
Reply:I live in America and was named after my grand parents. Generalizing the entire country doesn't make you look smart, quite the opposite.
Reply:I like children to be individuals. They already keep their surname.

Name of a children's book about a single stand of white Christmas lights?

I remember reading it as a child. In it, in an effort to outdo his neighbors, the father, who usually puts up 1 strand of white lights, keeps putting up Christmas decorations, until he eventually causes a blackout. Angry neighbors ransack his yard, destroying all of his decorations. While they feel guilty and offer to rebuild everything, he decides to only put up one string of lights. Anyone know the title and author of this book?

What is the name of a children's book about a winged pony named Rico?

I can't remember the author or title of this book. I remember a basic synopsis in that a little girl and her family live in an apartment in a big city when they receive a mysterious crate from an old man. It turns out to be a winged pony and the little girl and her new pony have fun adventures together, ending with a trail ride in the mountains. The only specific detail I can recall is the pony's name Rico, because it's the little girl's favorite name.

Does it include sparky and wonder squid in the story too??

What is the name of the children's book with the shiny silver fish?

I'm purchasing a gift of baby books for a pregnant friend. I'd like to get a book I've read to several children I've babysat, but I can't remember the name. It is beautifully illustrated with a shiny silver fish, and I just can't remember what it's called!

On a related note, if you have any great suggestions for books for a newborn, please let me know. Right now, I'm planning to get Goodnight Moon, Pat the Bunny, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Where's Spot, and possibly Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?, Where is Baby's Belly Button?, and Ten Little Ladybugs.

Thanks!

What is the name of the children's book with the shiny silver fish?
Raibow fish, I think. Oh, I love goodnight moon! Look for the 'classics' books with the golden spines, those are good. Also the "diary of a (worm, spider, etc.) books are cute. On a side note, try getting the stuffed goodnight moon bunny, it's adorable.
Reply:Is it Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister?
Reply:RAINBOW FISH..MY BOYS LOVE THAT BOOK.
Reply:One of my favorites that was given to our son when he was born was Guess How Much I Love You (made me tear up every time I read it). My son also really loved the Sandra Boynton books -- The Going to Bed Book is always a classic. Good Night Gorilla is one of the most beautifully illustrated board books out there and kids really love it.

For newborns, I love On The Day You Were Born -- it is such a heartwarming story of the joy of birth. My son is just now starting to understand the story and thinks it is so great how the "baby" in the story was so warmly welcomed into the world.

Books and the love of reading is a wonderful gift that can never be lost!
Reply:Rainbow Fish. They're some really good books for children. Harold and the Purple Crayon (and I believe Harold has another book as well) would be another good one.
Reply:Its called rainbow fish.
Reply:Oh I know, at least I think I do. The shiny fish book is:

"Rainbow Fish and Friends" by Marcus Pfister

the one my kids have is "The Copycat Fish"

Books I love for my twins who are one are:

1. Fuzzy, Fuzzy, Fuzzy (Sandra Boynton) this is a touch feel book

anything by her is cute and they come mostly in board books

2.My Friend Bear (Jez Alborough)

The ones on your list are great! What a fun idea as a baby shower gift.
Reply:My daughters love the Olivia books, and we have a half dozen Boynton books. The Going to Bed Book is my favorite, but all the Boynton books are just adorable, I love them and so do the girls.

Not sure if it comes in a board book, but I love The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. And there is also Guess How Much I Love You.

There is another book where a mom goes in her son's room at night and says, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be." I can't remember for sure, but I think it's I'll Love You Forever.

And I love Dr. Seuss. For babies, there is the Foot Book, Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?, and an ABCs book.

Happy baby book hunting!!
Reply:Get board books, they're pretty hardy. Dr. Suess and Boynton books are a huge hit too. Polar Bear, Polar Bear What do you Hear?, The Velveteen Rabbit, Where the Wild Things Are, any Early Learning board books - like the ABC book, Guess How Much I Love You, No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.

Target has all the great board books all grouped together in their book section. Go have a blast!
Reply:I just tried to look it up on the internet... is it Rainbow Fish?

How can I change my children's last name?

Hi, I would like to change my children's last name, they are 10 and 12 years old, do I need a permision from their father, if not where can I go to change it. Thanks

How can I change my children's last name?
you need to go to court to change their name and you probably have to consult their father. Call a lawyer.

Changing children's last names to step-fathers and/or adoption?

I have three children... one of whom is biologically my husband's but he raised them all and is the only father that they know. My oldest daughter is now twelve and my husband has been there since she was ten months old and is her daddy... we also have a nine year old together, and we were divorced when I had my son whom is now six and then got married again. His biological father has never seen him, had no contact, was abusive, etc... My husband is the only daddy he knows as well. He is a real good father to them and treats them as his own.

My husband is interested in adopting them or atleast changing their last names to his. We are wondering how hard either of these would be because no paternity was ever established and we are not interested in establishing it with the biologicals because of various reasons... but their names are on file with child support division because I was on welfare so it is on record who they are... How could we go about changing the names?

Changing children's last names to step-fathers and/or adoption?
If their names were on file with the child support division and the fathers have not paid any child support, chances are, you can have their parental rights stripped for abandonment. I'd get a lawyer to find out what to do. At the very least, your husband can be named guardian so that if something happened to you, the children would remain with him.
Reply:You're going to have to ask a lawyer or the Juvenile and domestic Relations Court to find out the specifics but what I was told is I had to have the child's father's permission but if you've never had the children's paternity established it should be quite easy especially if your husband has basically established himself as their father already.
Reply:You are aloud to change your childs name/last name 1 time in their life...and then after that you would have to go threw a big process. I would just go up to the court house and tell them what you want to do
Reply:It probably varies by state, but it can be done. Every situation varies, but this was my experience. I was a struggling single mom for many years, the biological father saw him once when he was nine days old, and was not in the picture after that in any way....which was for the best, we were much safer.....anyway, I met my husband when my son was 5 yrs old, we married 1 1/2 yrs later. We are incredibly blessed. My husband adopted my son, and we changed the last name that way. We still had to do the regular adoption stuff like a home study and paying for an attorney ad litem appointed to represent our sons interests, we also had to pay for an attorney to represent the father's interests so they could be terminated and the father couldn't come back later and say I didn't know.....I wasn't hard to find....anyway it was a great thing to have done, it was something our son REALLY wanted, and it cost about $3500.00 total but worth every penny %26amp; then some. It is so comforting to know my son is protected legally no matter what....My husband was his father regardless, but if God forbid something were to happen he won't end up in the system, I don't have family that could step in. GOod luck, and get an attorney that is a Bulldog and knows these type of cases inside out.
Reply:Well I am not a lawyer, but have had a similar situation. First of all you should just consult with a Family Law Lawyer to have all your questions answered legally correct. I know that if you chose to use a private lawyer, your husband will have to be certified to adopt through a legitimate agency.

Paternity should have already been established if you were on welfare and receiving any child support that the state enforced.

If you are civil with the children's biological father's you could ask them to sign a legal documentation that relinquishes their rights to the children. This is filed legally with the courts if they agree, but remember that the biological father is no longer obligated to pay child support once the his rights are relinquished and your husband still has to get certified to adopt. The only other legal way to change the children's last name is they would have to wait until they were 18 and could do this through the court themselves. I hope I was a little bit of help.
Reply:Hopefully, the biological father would sign consent to adopt forms, which would be the easiest way to do this process. He would be relieved from child support liability in the event he signed them.

If that isn't possible, you'll have to consult an attorney in family law to have your husband adopt them. You can't just change their names (at least not in my state, but yours may be different.).

The main thing is that the children know he loves them, and even if adoption is not possible, maybe have a ceremony for your family, like a birthday party event, declaring your love for each other, and the kids receive a declaration of love and that they are his special kids. It's love instead of a name that makes them who they are. Their name is part of their identity that shouldn't be changed, but the love can be there forever too.
Reply:Interestingly enough, my husband helped me raise my daughter from a previous marriage as well. She is now 17 going on 18, and has always called my husband, dad - he too raised my daughter as a baby. The biggest difference is that my ex-husband has been involved with my daughter inasmuchas he has always provided child support and tries to keep in touch now that she is older. Their relationship hasn't been very good; however, it's mainly because my daughter does not like her stepmother!

At any rate, when my daughter was 11 years old, she asked if my husband could adopt her so that she could change her name. I was against it because I thought it might be something she would regret later as she got older. Then when my daughter was 13, she started refusing to take her summer and mid-winter visits to see her biological dad, and contacted an attorney on her own to see what she would have to do to get adopted by my husband. Again, I intervened and told her that I would only consent to it if she talked to her biological dad and told him why she wanted to do it, and then called her biological grandparents and explained to them why it was important for her to do it. Needless to say, it never happened. So in the end, I believe the right decision was made.

With regard to your question, I completely understand why you would want something like adoption or a name change to take place. My daughter used my husband's last name all through elementary and middle school without any questions asked. But when it came to medical records, etc., we were compelled to use her biological last name. Although this worked for a little while, it all changed when she entered high school and she was forced to use her biological last name.

So changing a child's last name without giving them the consideration to do so is a very difficult decision. It means giving up so many of their rights, knowing and unknowing. There are so many consequences to consider and so many "what-ifs" to think about as well. I'm thinking that if paternity has never been determined, that is one of the first things that will have to be done. And I think it might require some footwork on your part. Afterward, if the biological is willing to give up their rights, then and only then might you be able to carry forth your wishes.

Good luck to you and your family. Blended families possess a lot of difficulties, but if the decisions you make are in the best interest of the kids, then they should always be the right decisions!!

God Bless you!

if you havnt even started your period yet you cant have a baby.and as last night you were putting strawberries in your pants so it looked like u started

Reply:We didn't name any of the kids stuffed animals until they were about 15 months old and old enough to name them themselves. My son has a dog named Black, a dog named Rudy, and then he gave up on naming his animals because he doesn't care for them anymore. He is 2.5 years old and too "big" for them. He has however named some of his toy figures, like Fireman Joe, Pete the truck driver, Jimmy the dump truck driver, Pilot Sam, etc.

My 19 month old daughter loves her animals and babies, but is also stuck on herself right now! lol. So she does have a stuffed dragon named Petey, but has named all of her other animals "Abby" (her name is Abigail - Abby) and has named all of her dolls "Me!" She is silly. I like letting them name their own animals and toys, it is so much more fun to see what they say!
Reply:this is a cool question. i've named some of my daughter's toys without even realizing i did that until i read your question! lol

most of her toys have tags on the back with their names so i didn't name them. she has sesame street stuffed toys so they all have their own names - elmo, grover, big bird, ernie, bert. She has a cabbage patch, came with the name Hazel Kendra, but i call her Hazelnut. She has a stuffed dinosaur, he came with the name Clomps.

I call one Ty bear, "grandma bear" because grandma (bfs mom) gave it to her.

she has another Ty bear, "bumma bear" because my mom gave it to her, and instead of calling my mom Grandma everyone calls her Bumma.

the rest, i just call Teddy, waiting for her to name those ones herself.

I call her small blankies with teddy bear heads "sooky bears". she uses one every day, and needs it to sleep, which i just rotate.
Reply:My niece had a problem when she was learning to talk because my sister gave all her animals funny names and so she would call all animals theses names and refused to call for example a cow, a cow.

We give all the animal toys names that relate to the animal to avoid that problem. Plus its easier to remember as Akira has hundreds of soft toys!
Reply:4 weeks old? She's not gonna know the difference if her toys have names or not.

Wait till she gets older and let her name them herself. That's what every other kid does!

They are 9 and 10 year olds.

Good names for children's maths groups?
Math Mules, Algebra Unknowns, Variable Volcanoes or Vultures, Fraction Foxes, Decimal Diamonds, Pentagon Penguins. Hope these will help you out or give you some ideas to start out with. Maybe the kids can come up with others. Give them a chance. It's their name.

Reply:I think the children should have a chance in coming up with a name as they would be the ones in the group and it would be something they would like instead of restricting them to a couple of names they may not like. it gives the children a chance to devolpe communication and team work skills plus proplem solving.

i hope this answers your question.

Can my ex-wife change my children's last names without my consent?

i live in california. my ex is threatening to change my childrens last names to her maiden name. We have joint custody and I do not want her to change their names. Will she be able to do this?

Can my ex-wife change my children's last names without my consent?
No
Reply:I worked in law for many years and the correct answer is that if she wanted to change their last name, a petition would have to be filed with the Courts with a consent signed by you and that consent would have to be signed before a notary public. Unless you were deceased, the court might even want a hearing to know why you would consent to such a thing so don't worry. The only other way would be if they were adopted and you're not going to consent to that either so she's just making idle threats to you. If they decide they want their last name changed when they become adults, they would still have to file something with the courts to do that. Almost everything has to be done legally and I did a lot of name changes and they were all done through Court. Don't worry.
Reply:NO!! I am an ex wife and I asked this question myself to my lawyer. She cannot do so without your consent. You would have to sign paperwork allowing her to legally change your childrens last names. The children can do so at 18 on their own accord, but before that......DEF NOT!
Reply:Nope, no way. Seriously, there is absolutely no way she could make that happen without your permission. It's an empty threat.
Reply:Absolutely not :-) Cause if I could I would my ex was abusive.
Reply:Nope! not with out your consent. Your signed consent.
Reply:She might see a lawyer
Reply:no, she can't do that

Getting Married and How to Change Children's Last Names?

I have 2 kids age 1 1/2 and 6. The 6 year old has her "birth" father's last name and the 1 1/2 year old has mine(don't know who her birth father is or could be). How do I go about changing their last names when I change mine(get married)? The birth father of my 6 year old is not in her life, and would prob. sign whatever papers needed. But I don't want him to be able to "get out" of having to pay child support for her. Please help thanks.

Getting Married and How to Change Children's Last Names?
You go to the ss office and change their names. as for the older child, unless there was some kind of legal agreement about this..it shouldnt be a problem, however, he should be informed of the change. in her case, you might have both names..your married name and her original birth name. This has nothing to do with 'child support'. name change doesnt release his obligation in that. your new husband adopting her would cause any support to stop and that would also have to be agreed upon by her bio dad. I see youre trying to make a real family where there was once a wayward road. good luck to you
Reply:In the state of Washington what would it cost to have my children's name changed to my married last name...? Report Abuse

Reply:File name change in court. You won't be able to do that though UNLESS the new husband ADOPTS your kids legally. You will have to prove that the father of your six year old or the possible father of the other one doesn't want any claim what so ever
Reply:you can't give them your husbands name unless he legally adopts them and if you want your ex to pay support, don't have her adopted.
Reply:In order for their names to be changed they have to be adopted by their stepfather. If he adopts them, then the biological father has no further obligation for child support. You can't have it both ways.
Reply:have your new husband adopt them
Reply:I don't know if it is different from state to state, but as far as I know it is a couple hundred dollars and a court visit to change names. You would have to notify the father, if you don't have an address for him it is acceptable to put an ad in the local paper here. If uncontested, then you could change their name to yankee doodle for that matter. It doesn't relinquesh the father's rights, so they still have to pay child support, well, they are supposed to anyways. Try visiting your local courthouse web page they may have some info on exactly what you would need to do.
Reply:If your children's father signs away parental rights he will not be legally obligatged to pay child support. You have to make up your mind what you want? Do you want him to pay child support or do you want to change their last name? Once he signs over all parental rights your present husband will have to adopt them to give them his last name and HE will be legally obligated by virtue of adoption to support your children. You don't get to have it both ways. You sound like an immature spoiled child with your demands.
Reply:If you still want child support, then you cant change her name. Because your new husband would have to adopt her, and her father would have to sign over his parental rights. Same with the other, he would have to adopt her. Unless you want to lie and say he is her father, but that can cause more problems also.
Reply:Your new husband will have to adopt those kids and when that happens then the child support will stop. Sorry!!!

Wat a way to secure your children's future in debt just as you are. But troll ya later anyways.
Reply:If you are that much in debt, how did u get there in the first place, u might just waste the money again, then be 1 million and 300,000.

I would seriously think about ruining ur childrens credit rating.
Reply:Yeah man. Your children would then have no clue how they have a low rating the first time they apply for a credit card.
Reply:no, get an uncool million and you're good to go.

"A Great and Terrible Beauty"/Libba Bray

"Mathilda"/Roald Dahl

St Trinian's series/Ronald Searle

Harry Potter/JK Rowling

"A Little Princess"/Francis Hodgson Burnett

"Bloomability"/Sharon Creech

This link has a very extensive list of children's stories that are set in boarding schools

http://home.swipnet.se/flickbok/collect....
Reply:the chalet school series. i cant remenber the author but if you look it up on the web youl find out pretty quick. there was about 60 of them written
Reply:I was about to suggest Malory Towers and St. Clare's by Enid Blyton but it seems you have already read these. Personally, I really loved them and looked for others dealing with the same setting and here's what I found and liked:

The Little Princess by Frances Hodgeson Burnett

What Katy Did At School by Susan Coolidge

Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster(this one is more about college but I guess you'll like it nevertheless)

Patty and Patty Grows Up by Jean Webster

The Chalet school stories by Elinor Brent-Dyer

School Under Snowdon, School on Cloud Ridge, School on North Barrule, New Schools for Old, Chiltern School by Mabel Esther Allan

Also there are books about girls in boarding schools by Angela Brazil, Dorita Fairlie Bruce, Elsie Oxenham.I don't know much about them for I have never read any of their books.

While searching for more books like the one you are looking for, I came across an interesting site of publishers, I believe who specialise in these type of books. Maybe you could check it out. Here's a link for you:

Hope these help!
Reply:Anne Digby wrote a series of fourteen books set in a girls' boarding school called Trebizon, the first one is 'First Term at Trebizon.

Elinor M Brent-Dyer's 'Chalet School' series was written over a long period and is set in a school in Austria which is run by an englishwoman but takes girls of many nationalities. The first book is 'The School at the Chalet' there are a great many books in the series.

Anthony Buckeridge's 'jennings' books are set in a boys' prep school and are very funny, the first one is 'Jennings Goes to School'.

William Mayne wrote a series of four books which are set in a cathedral choir school, they are; A Swarm in May, choristers' Cake, Cathedral Wednesday, and Words and Music.

Antonia Forest wrote a series of books about a family called the Marlows, several of them have boarding-school settings, Autumn Term, End of Term, The Cricket Term, and The Attic Term

Mabel Esther Allan wrote several books that are set in progressive boarding schools: School Under snowdon, School on Cloud Ridge, School on North Barrule, New Schools for Old, Chiltern School

'Daddy Long-Legs' by Jean Webster is set in a college rather than a school, but it is a really good story full of lovely details about college life in the early 1900s, and if you enjoy school stories you will probably enjoy this book too.

Mothers out there would u tell your kid that your child's names is a dogs name?

just asking want to know if there are evil parents out there like my mom!

Mothers out there would u tell your kid that your child's names is a dogs name?
As in they were named after a dog or that is better for a dog? Either way, dogs and kids share the same name all the time, like Jake, Molly, and Casey. I wouldn't want to be mean or make insults, no.
Reply:My husband calls our son Bubby for a nickname. It bothers me because I used to have a dog (girl at that) named Bubby.

Names of tough dependable children's rubber soled shoes?

Something that will last about a year give or take, and not just a couple or few months. Something not too expensive but not dirt cheap. Maybe something around $20-$30 give or take.

Names of tough dependable children's rubber soled shoes?
Just go to the shoe store and look for a deal on a name brand shoe.. Don't get me wrong i am not a name brand freak.. I just see that paying a few bucks extra really makes the shoe last longer.. nike, rebox, adidas and even sketchers have done well on my boys.. also new balances..i am not sure they will last a whole year tho (with the way kids feet grow)

Also another way to make shoes last longer is invest in some boots for your kiddo.. my kids wear them when it snows, rains, or is muddy out.. makes there shoes last way longer then normal
Reply:weeboks my favorite is tommy, i always hit the sales and get them at dillard's for around 20 dallors. they last forever
Reply:Robeez and Pedipeds have some around $40. What age or size??

Ok..those dont go that big...my 6 year old wears sketchers mostly and they hold up pretty well. I think I paid $50 for his most recent ones on sale.

Sorry I cant help more.

Hey everyone. I need some help with the order of my children's names, so I want to here your opinions please!

The names I like for girls are Hailey, Allison, Paige, Emily, Mackenzie, Heidi and Sadie... I want them to have two middle names. For one whole name I want the first name to be Allison and the second whole name I would like it to be Heidi. So it would be Allison ______ ______ (last name) and then Heidi ______ ______ (last name). I want the whole names to sound good together and run smoothly, please. =)

For boy names I like Ethan, Seth, Ryan, Landon, Spencer, Christian, and Aidan. For one whole name I want the first name to be Seth and the second whole name I would like it to be Ethan. So it would be Seth ______ ______ (last name) and then Ethan ______ ______ (last name). Again, I want the whole names to sound good together and run smoothly, please. =) =) =) =) =) =) =) thanks.

Hey everyone. I need some help with the order of my children's names, so I want to here your opinions please!
Hi. You have some very cute names there, but it is hard to make two good combinations from each list. The main reason is that most of your girl names end in the long "ee" sound and most of your boys' names end in "n". In order to get a good three-name combination, it's important to have some variety in the number of syllables, the beginning sounds, and the ending sounds. Here are my best attempts using only the names you have chosen:

Allison Emily Paige

Allison Paige Mackenzie

Allison Hailey Mackenzie

Heidi Allison Mackenzie

Heidi Paige Mackenzie

Heidi Emily Paige

Seth Ryan Spencer

Seth Aidan Spencer

Ethan Ryan Spencer

Here are some other possible combinations, so you can see how the three-name combinations sound with more variation in syllables and ending sounds:

Heidi Sophia Marie

Heidi Olivia Paige

Allison Hailey Maria

Ethan Dane Alexander

Ethan Michael James

If you really need two names for each gender and don't want to repeat any, I strongly recommend finding at least ONE other name possibility for each gender -- one more girl name that doesn't end in "ee" and one more boy name that doesn't end in "n." Maybe:

Allison Emily Paige and Heidi Grace Mackenzie

Seth Ryan Spencer and Ethan James Christian
Reply:Allison Sadie Paige

Heidi Emily Paige

Seth Ryan Spencer

Ethan Spencer Christian
Reply:Are you even going to be having children in the near future?
Reply:Allison Hailey Paige

Heidi Emily Mackenzie

Seth Aiden Christian

Ethan Spencer Landon
Reply:Ethan Spencer Ryan

Seth Christian Micheal (none of your others fit well here)

Allison Kenzie Paige

Heidi... anymore names...those dont fit well with Heidi
Reply:Allison Marie Lynn

Heidi Michelle Rose

Seth Jseph Micheal

Ethan John Alan

are my sugestions im not too crazy about the double middle names but its what you liek but heres a site you may find what you are looking for if you dont liek my suggestion

Reply:Allison Hailey Mackenzie

Heidi Emily Paige

Seth Aidan Spencer

Ethan Ryan Christian
Reply:HEIDI EMILY PAIGE SETH RYAN CHRISTIAN

ETHAN SPENCER AIDAN

ALLISON MACKENZIE PAIGE

HOPE THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT. GOOD LUCK.
Reply:Allison Mackenzie Paige *

Heidi Emily Paige *

(just felt paige worked with both...you could make it a "family name" you know a name all your girls carry and a name they will pass on to there girls... it is a beautiful name.)

Seth Landon Spencer *

Ethan Christian Spencer *

(same as paige just about spencer)
Reply:"I want the whole names to sound good together and run smoothly"

well then i suggest either:

a) including the last name so this exercise isn't (even more) ridiculous; and/or

b) not giving them two middle names, as it is stupid and there is clearly no significant reason for doing so.
Reply:Girls...

Allison Sadie Paige

Heidi Emily Mackenzie

Boys...

Seth Ryan Spencer

Ethan Christian Aidan

I don't think Ethan sounds very fluid with any of the 3 variations...but your choice. They are all nice names.
Reply:Allison Mackenzie Paige

Heidi ....sorry??

Seth Ryan Christian

Ethan Spencer Landon
Reply:Allison Emily Paige

Allison Hailey Paige

Heidi Allison Paige

Heidi Mackenzie Paige
Reply:allison paige mackenzie/heidi and the same.seth ryan spencer/ethan christian ryan.
Reply:Allison Paige Mackenzie

Heidi (I love that name!) Sadie Emily (that's hard because of the ending sounds...I would add other names but idk if that's what you wanted or not)

Seth Aidan Landon (I think you should consider Aidan as the first name)

Ethan Christian Spencer
Reply:have more kids so you can name themm all that
Reply:Allison Mackenzie Paige would go well, Heidi needs 2 names that do not end in the same sound. Heidi Angela marie or any name that ends without an i or y sound.

Seth Aiden Spencer or Ethan and middle names that don't end in n. You want a name that is smoothe sounding when you say it
