What is the significance of Ron and Hermione's children's names?

Ron and Hermione named their kids Hugo and Rose. Harry and Ginny's kids have OBVIOUS links to people in their lives (Albus Severus, James Sirius, Lily Luna) but where do Rose and Hugo come from? And, just to throw it out there, why Luna? Why not someone a little more important to Harry and Ginny?

What is the significance of Ron and Hermione's children's names?
i think according to jk rowling (%26amp; mugglecast) their names apparently have no meaning. they were just names jo liked.

as for luna who says she wasn't important to them. she fought at the ministry with harry, and at hogwarts plus her family supported him with the quibbler(fr the most part). but if someone kidnapped ur daughter u would've been just as desperate. but more likely jk rowling had already chosen the names james sirius, albus severus, and lily. maybe for her middle name she just wanted to choose something that had less meaning or none.
Reply:No there was no significance between Hermione and Rons childrens names. I think they choose Luna as a middle name because in all the chaos she kept them sane and was always kind and understanding towards their complicated situations. In your eyes she may not have been significant but in book 7 she played an important part.
Reply:Jo said tht the name rose was a tribute to lily potter since it was a flower name.both the lilies-harry's kid,and his mum named lily potter.

hugo-dunno,really.Jo never said anything.
Reply:The only signficant thing that I could find was the initials :]

P.S. I never knew that it was James Sirius and Lily Luna...where did you find this info??
