I'm thinking about getting my children's names tattooed on my body, any ideas?

I want to get something special tattooed on my body as a dedication of sorts to my 3 children. I've never really been big on the tattooing of names but my kids will be mine forever and I want something that will symbolize my love for them. I'm searching for ideas or even a good place to put it, so I would like some ideas from others.


One friend mentioned to have each one write their names, and have a tattoo artist copy their signatures onto a tattoo. I thought that was an interesting and unique suggestion, but I would like to hear others opinions. Maybe even different ideas.

Really desire. Or baby foot or finger


prints with first letter of name.


I love pictures to tell my tattoo story


Not real happy with only words.


They are hard to read,plus you want


your tats to jump out without saying

Reply:A friend of mine has her children's names tattooed on her upper right arm. It is in cursive and they are stacked on top of each other with two hearts. I think it looks really nice and it probably the sweetest tattoo I've seen, and I am not big on tattoos, so that means something.
Reply:Im a mommy too, and i want to get a tattoo of my son's footprints (at birth) somewhere (maybe his name or birthday by them) I am not sure where to put them though.....either on my back, or on my calf. :) good luck!

How about considering if your kids will want their names on your body. I find that kind of creepy. People are so impulsive these days. Give a lot of thought and time.

But, I did run across this image, that I thought might really work for you, for a number of reasons, it has a heart in the center, it is a triskel - symbolizing 3, and the 3 stages in life and it is a Celtic Knot, symbolizing life, and it also, is a unique depiction of the triskel, and with this image, you could put your childrens' names inside the lines, also, I would recommend combining this with a flower to represent life and you and beauty, .. it could be placed behind this, or at the side, whatever works for you, and your artist could really help in the designing aspect.
