How/why did you come up with your children's names?

Family tradition? Just one you liked? Named after someone? I just thought this would be fun...

My son's name is Caleb Lee.

Caleb was the only name I threw out that my husband liked (he's the picky one), and we both liked that the name stood for a Biblical, God following man.

Lee is tradition in my family. In each generation there's a Lee (brother's son, sister's daughter, me, my dad, Grandfather, etc...) so we decided to use it with our first born in case we didn't end up having more. Robert E. Lee was in our family tree, so that's why it's used.

Any good baby naming stories out there?

How/why did you come up with your children's names?
What no way, my sons name is caleb joshua lee, caleb we liked for the biblical side of it, joshua was after a friend of mone who dies, and lee was my dads middle name.
Reply:We named our son after my dad and uncle (first name) and after my husband and husband's grandfather (middle name). Our daughter was named after three of her grandmas (middle name). The next baby, if a boy, will be named for two great uncles, one of whom passed away this year, and if a girl, will be named for a great grandmother and aunt.
Reply:David Brandon - David means beloved. Before him we had a son that passed away at 28 weeks so David is our beloved. We wanted him so bad after the death of his brother. Brandon is just a name I've always loved.

Gabriella Marie - I've always loved the name Gabriella and I really loved that it meant god gives strength. Marie is my middle and I liked the way it sounded with Gabriella.
Reply:My son is Noah John Peter -

I've always loved the name Noah, since there was a really fit actor in Home and Away (aussie soap) years back I've liked the name! (although my son wasn't actually named after him!!) - I hadn't thought of it when thinking of names though until I walked past a cute little gift shop and saw a lovely little babygrow with the name Noah on it, and I thought... I have to have that babygrow... and that name! And that was it!

John is after John Lennon - the great!

And Peter is after my dad :-)
Reply:Angela Danielle...

Angela for my love of angels (the name means Heavenly Messenger)...also just because I liked the name, it's one she will grow into, and I wanted her first name to be *hers* and not for anyone.

Danielle - honors my brother (Daniel), who loves her to death, and my husband's cousin (Danyelle), who was supposed to be in our wedding but was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident just one month beforehand. Ironically, Danyelle had beautiful red hair, and so does my daughter.

Best of luck.
Reply:My son is Logan Isaiah. My husband picked the name Logan after his grandfather. I picked the name Isaiah after my younger brother. When I was little, I always told myself that I wanted to name my 1st born child after my brother. I like it considering that Logan reminds me of Wolverine in Xmen! haha.
Reply:My baby girl's name is Madeline Theresa after both my grandmothers. My dad's mom is Madeline and she is our only living grandparent. Years ago I told her if I had a girl I would name her Madeline. My mom came up with the middle name after her mother and I liked it too. My husband said he was fine with the first and middle name because she has his last name.
Reply:I named my daughter Lux Elisa Eleanor.

Because i really like the name Lux and i think is super unique. Elisa we chose because its my husbands sister and he wanted a name that meant something.Thats where we were going to stop but then my grandma past away just before she was born( My grandma meant the world to me.) so we gave her the name Eleanor.
Reply:Our son is Anthony Lyle. Anthony after my father and brother and Lyle after my husband's father. We were going to go with Lyle Anthony because my husband's father is no longer with us. But we decided against it because we didn't want to have a constant reminder.

Reply:Sophie Grace - It was like the second or third girls name I suggested and he said, "I like Sophie if the middle name is Grace" I agreed.. and It stuck.. I was like 2 months pregnant when we picked it... Turns out its my husbands grandmothers real name.. she hated it as a teenager and started to go by her middle name, Ann, so i had no idea until we already told everyone...
Reply:my sons name is Tracy Cope. my dads name was tracy, and he passed away when i was 3 months pregnant, so, we thought it was only right. and the name cope, comes from the father. i dont know where he got it from, but, i loved it.
Reply:it depends on your parents..lol my dad is a truck finatic.. he loves dodges... my names sierra and thats on a truck.. my sisters middle name is cheyanne and thats a truck... so it depends i like dalton blake or blake dalton
Reply:Jeffrey Scott is my son's name. Its after his father. I had a very strong incling that my son would come out looking exactly like my husband. He did.. and still does lol. Already acts like him too. =/
Reply:Dakota Michael

Dakota I heard someone by that name and i fell in love instantly.

Michael was after my dad:)
Reply:We named our son after his daddy!!! JESSE JAMES JR!!
Reply:My son is Liam Samuel. My daughter is Ella Scarlet. They were both names that my husband and I really liked. Originally, all of our kids were going to have their names start with the same first letter, but we like Ella more than our L girl names. It took a long time for us to come upon names that we both liked. My husband originally wanted our son to be either Tuff or Brock. Those just had to go. For our daughter, he liked Lonna and Luna. Haha - no thanks! When I mentioned Liam and Ella (at different times of course), he was like - I like that! So, they just kind of clicked. Our babes are not named after anybody. ( No - we did not choose Liam because of Tori Spelling. I am pretty sure my son is older than hers actually.)
