Do you like my children's names?

Hello Y!A peeps, I'm new here and was just curious as to people's honest opinions of my children's names. Sometimes I get some weird looks but they have old fashioned named because I was christian ed "Akayla" at birth and have since hated modern/made up names.

I have two sons and a daughter:

Rowen Thomas

Kendall Arthur (Arthur is a family name)

Evangeline Ruth

My fourth kiddos name is still undecided :)

Do you like my children's names?
I really like classic names rather than modern, trendy ones.

Kudos to you for using Kendall on a boy! I often hear it suggested for a baby girl, and it's such a masculine name! Arthur has a very interesting history, and Thomas is timeless.

Evangeline is beautiful, it's one of the names I'm considering for my future daughter. Sweet, flowing and feminine. Ruth is short and simple, and so combines really well with it.

I'm sure you'll pick a great name for your fourth too :)
Reply:Rowen Thomas - Don't care for it

Kendall Arthur (Arthur is a family name) - I know Kendall is a unisex name, but I see it as more of a girls name. I've never heard of a boy with this name, anytime I hear this name, it's always a girl with then name.

Evangeline Ruth - I like Evangeline.
Reply:I love tham! There very unique! Kendall is the most common out of those names and its still rare.

Im 15, when I have kids I want to have one girl and name her either Mercedes, or Anistasia, or maybe Alexa. Alot of people say Anistasia is a black name though but I like it. I think those names sound rare, extravegant, and classy. Your names are the same way. I love those names.
Reply:Hi i like the boy's names not quite sure about the girls name though but this is just my opinion, they are your children and only you can decide!!

People look at my children's names funny i have a Shannagh Rose and 3 others not so unusual!
Reply:Rowen is kinda cool but I'm sorry to say I really don't like the others..

Name your next kid something cooler. Welcome to yahoo answers:) people are harsh sometimes, hahah like right now!

Sorry, I like:

Evangeline Ruth is just bare pretty.
Reply:The name Kendall is my favorite name in the world! The others are good too!

How old are your kids? Your name choices are fabulous!!
Reply:Very unique I never herd any names like that alot . SO good job mommy !!!
Reply:Evangeline Ruth is fine, but I don't really like it

Kendall Arthur is not my style

Rowen Thomas is horrible
Reply:I'm not really sure how some of these are old fashioned, but they are not my style at all. Sorry!
Reply:yes, I like them very much.

What were JFK's children's names?

i have a report do

What were JFK's children's names?
Caroline and John Jr. (called "John-John" when he was little and his dad was in the White House.)

Caroline is still alive. She'd be in her 50s by now.

John Jr. died in a plane crash a few years ago with his wife.
Reply:John jr. and Caroline
Reply:John Kerry %26amp; Barack Obama
Reply:Jon and Caroline -- Jon was called "Jon Jon" -- he died in a plane crash.....
Reply:John %26amp; Caroline
Reply:John and Caroline. Glad you asked.
Reply:Kennedy and his wife "Jackie" were very young in comparison to earlier presidents and first ladies, and were both extraordinarily popular in ways more common to pop singers and movie stars than politicians, influencing fashion trends and becoming the subjects of numerous photo spreads in popular magazines. Jacqueline bought new art and furniture, and eventually restored all the rooms in the White House.

Outside the White House lawn the Kennedys established a preschool, swimming pool and tree house. Jacqueline allowed very few photographs of the children to be taken of them but when she was gone, the President would allow the White House photographer Cecil Stoughton to take pictures of the children. The resulting photos are probably the most famous of the children, and especially of John Jr., after he was photographed playing underneath the President鈥檚 desk.

The president was closely tied to popular culture. Songs such as "Twisting at the White House" and "Camelot" (the popular Broadway play) were part of the JFK culture. Vaughn Meader's "First Family" comedy album 鈥?an album parodying the President, First Lady, their family and administration 鈥?sold about 4 million copies. On May 19, 1962, Marilyn Monroe sang for the president at a large birthday party in Madison Square Garden. The Kennedys also had ties to more serious culture; artists such as Pablo Casals were invited to the White House (Casals performed on Nov. 13, 1961).

Behind the glamorous facade, the Kennedys also suffered many personal tragedies. Jacqueline suffered a miscarriage in 1955 and gave birth to a stillborn daughter, Arabella Kennedy, in 1956. The death of their newborn son, Patrick Bouvier Kennedy, in August 1963, was a great loss. Since Kennedy's death, allegations have been made that Kennedy carried on numerous extramarital dalliances during his presidency with women such as Hollywood actress Marilyn Monroe and socialite Mary Pinchot Meyer.[37]

The charisma of Kennedy and his family led to the figurative designation of "Camelot" for his administration, credited by his widow to his affection for the contemporary Broadway musical of the same name. She gave an interview to Theodore White, where she mentioned the musical Camelot,[38] and White later said that he had "found the headline".

He holds a record acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's fastest speaker in public life, with a speed of 327 words in one minute in a speech given in December 1961.[39]

In October 1951, during his third term as Massachusetts 11th district congressman, the then 34-year-old Kennedy embarked on a seven-week Asian trip to Israel, India, Vietnam and Japan with his then 25-year-old brother Robert (who had just graduated from law school four months earlier) and his then 27-year-old sister Patricia. Because of their eight-year separation in age, the two brothers had previously seen little of each other. This 25,000-mile (40,000 km) trip was the first extended time they had spent together and resulted in their becoming best friends in addition to being brothers. Robert was campaign manager for Kennedy's successful 1952 Senate campaign and successful 1960 Presidential campaign. The two brothers worked closely together from 1957 to 1959 on the Senate Select Committee on Improper Activities in the Labor and Management Field (Senate Rackets Committee) when Robert was its chief counsel. During Kennedy's presidency, Robert served in his Cabinet as Attorney General and was his closest advisor.

Kennedy came third (behind Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mother Teresa) in a Gallup list of the most admired people of the twentieth century.[40][41]

In 1946, Kennedy dated actress Gene Tierney, who was separated from her then-husband fashion designer Oleg Cassini. In her book Self-portrait, Ms. Tierney recalled that over an informal brunch, "Jack" told her that even after she divorced Cassini, he couldn't marry her. If he was to be the first elected Catholic President, he could never marry a divorced woman. Moreover, she was also a Protestant.

Seymour Hersh's The Dark Side of Camelot (1998) presents a critical analysis of the Kennedy administration, stating that Kennedy "was probably one of the unhealthiest men ever to sit in the Oval Office."

People criticizing children's names?

At a funeral recently, my cousin and his wife brought there newborn son, named Vincent. I heard at least 3 aunts talking about how they feel sorry that they would name their son that.

Why do people criticize names that aren't used as much now?

Isn't it better to have a unique name than every child in one generation having the same name?

People criticizing children's names?
Everyone criticizes, some just do it more than others. Your aunts are all especially rude. Hopefully, you got better genes :)

I like Vincent. It is a strong, classic, solidly masculine names. And with parents these days giving their little boys female names or dog names, Vincent should count himself lucky!
Reply:For some reason people, especially family members, seem to think that their opinion matters when it comes to naming new children in the family. But it's really none of their business. It's up to the parents to name the child. And the rest of the family should just keep their mouths shut about the name the parents choose, unless the parents ask their opinion. Obviously, the parents picked the name for a reason. So everyone else should butt out and leave them alone.

I do agree it's better to have a unique name than to have the same name as half your generation. I was a teacher for a few years and I've had to call children their first name and last initial each year to distinguish between the multiple children with the same name. I think it's better to have a less common name that nobody else will have.
Reply:Unique names are great but not everyone sees it that way. Lots of children our teases because their names are different. When children get older they are stereotyped because of their names and some people can't even get professional business jobs because of their names. It's a terrible thing but it's something that people have to face in society everyday. It's reality.
Reply:Vincent is a normal name. Old School Names are fine but some parents nowadays go out of their way to sound different and even worse make up names and spell them like crazy people and that's just wrong and they are only hurting their kids. When you see have to pronounce your name for people just so they know what it is that's really disgusting.

Anyway, again Vincent? That's perfectly NORMAL.
Reply:I think Vincent is a wonderful name, the child will grow with his name and it will fit him great. People just need to keep their mouths shut, they may not like it because not everyone will always like the same things, and some people on here may say yuck to vincent too...but it's not their choice.
Reply:People are *******. If someone chooses to name their child something, the feel obligated to put their two cents in the matter. If they don't like the name then they can turn their noses up allllllll day long, but at the end of the day the P A R E N T S' child will be named what THE PARENTS choose!
Reply:I think some people can be so rude, my daughters name is Keanna and she is all white. Most people make rude comments about her name but I don't let it bother me anymore. I think names follow generations, like back in the day Martha and Barbra were common names, then Jennifer and Amy, now I am seeing the trend of new names coming. . .
Reply:I'm with you. I'm naming my little boy Levi and I've been blessed with only good feedback about the name. Unique names are better than everyone having the same name.

Vincent is a perfectly nice name for a little boy.
Reply:Vincent is a great name, I don't see why anyone would say that, I have a strange name, and I've always loved it. People are just opinionated.
Reply:I agree with you. People just can't keep quiet - they always have to have an opinion, which isn't bad, but they should also respect others' choices.
Reply:YES I LOVE MY NAME, IVY, AND I HATE WHEN PEOPLE CRITISIZE NAMES!
Reply:totally agreee with you!
Reply:Vincent is cute (for an adult). He'll grow into it
Reply:i like the name vincent...i dont get why people would make fun of it. its better to be unique
Reply:cuz ppl are mean
Reply:its very rude and they should keep their mouth shut
Reply:Well it depends...if ur name was zoe irene tillman ur initals would be zit..not good. Or if your name happened to be richard head..well that should explain itself...or you could have my last name(maiden)...rash...ugh

Reply:I've been staring at these names for a few minutes and still don't know how to pronounce them! Why would you do that to your kid on purpose? Prepare them for a lifetime of eyeball rolling if you are seriously gonna go through with it.
Reply:Chael-would you pronounce it Kale? I think they are both interesting but they will always have a hard time because people will either not spell it right it or mispronounce it
Reply:No...they will both me pronounced wrong all the time...it will get old for them (They could be good names but try different spelling)
Reply:I'm not sure how you pronounce either of those names! Might be hard for a child to always have to explain their name.
Reply:sorry. no.

Did you choose your child/children's names for a personal reason or spiritual reason?

Do you know the meaning of yours and does it fit you?

My sons are Seane and Brian.

Seane Collin-Irish for John:"God's gracious gift"

Brian Patrick-"The Strong, as it was a difficult pregnancy and he was strong to survive."

My name is Debra-"The bee, the one who seeks the sweet out of life."

Did you choose your child/children's names for a personal reason or spiritual reason?
I chose my son's name for both reasons actually. His name is Faruk and it means ''The one who separates the truth from lie'' in Arabic. I can only hope and do my best to raise him to live up to his name. The second reason I gave him that name is because that was the name of my uncle who was killed in a war back in '90s. Just a small way to honour his memory I guess.

Oh, by the way, my name is Azra and it's of Persian origin. It has 3 meanings: pious woman; uncarved pearl; one of virgin mind.

Aaaah, I'm lucky to carry such a name :)

edit: I really think it's important to give meaningful names to the kids. I'm not religious, I'm an Atheist as a matter of fact (as everybody here knows), but still - name is something that will stick with you for the rest of your life. It's much nicer if it carries a positive and thoughtful meaning.
Reply:I wanted to name my daughter Deborah, but my husband had dated a girl named Deb and had a friend named Deb, so it was out of the question.

I never realized what a chore it was to name a child until I had to do it. Everyone has an opinion and a suggestion.

I went through every name in the baby books and my husband vetoed them all. He didn't know what he wanted, but he knew he had not found it yet. We knew we needed a family name from his side to please his genealogist aunt and traditional mother. I knew I wanted something different and a tad romantic and my husband wanted a girls name that he could shorten into a boyish nickname. So, I made a random suggestion in the car one night for a name and it stuck. My daughter has never let anyone shorten her name, though. She turned out all sugar and spice and Dad has learned to love it. Her middle name was my husband's namesake's middle name. It suits her.
Reply:Our sons are named based on names we liked. Their meaning is cool and all but had nothing to do for why they were named that.

The middle names, well two out of the three, are family names but again...no spiritual attachment to them.
Reply:well I don't have any children but my name means "Who is Like God". And I actually plan on changing my name soon for many personal reasons. The name I am changing to didn't show any known meaning for it so...
Reply:I named my youngest child Naomi after my great-grandmother. I was very lucky to have known her and we had a special relationship. Not many people can say that about their great-grandmother. I actually knew her mother (my great great) as well. Neat huh?
Reply:my oldest ... Ainslii was actually named after the drummer in the band Journey ( we just put a female slant on the spelling )

as it turns out .... she is a drummer lol

my middle one Tonii .... was my ex's laziness

he decided on Tony for boy or girl

I wanted to call her Autumn

as it turns out ... both Ainslii and Tonii mean to return home

my baby Katana was named after the Japanese sword , the motorbike and a character from a game .... all of which means a lot to us

and my own name Angela ... like the angel

means messenger
Reply:Yes, I know the meaning of my name, and no it does not fit. Especially since my name refers to god, and I know that god does not exist.
Reply:I liked the names, and the meanings. My oldest is named after Kings, Angels, prophets, and his Grandfather. My youngest after prophets of God.
Reply:When I was 12 I named all my future children.

Aaron Christopher

Kyle Christian

Nathaniel Zachariah

Michael Nehemiah

Phillip Joseph

Roderick Sebastian for the boys.

Shannon Elizabeth

Shoshannah Eveleen

Shenandoah Ixchelle

Kyra Mikaela

Ceara Danielle

Katherine Colleen for the girls

Saints and Biblical names mostly.

Then I grew up and vowed myself to celibacy.

If anyone wants to use these names I wouldn't mind. I still think they're pretty darn good names!
Reply:Daughter #1: her name means "grace"

Daughter #2: her name means "annointed one"

Daughter #3: her name means "princess"

Son #1: "right hand of God" but he was named for his grandfather and great grandfather

Daughter #4: her name is Justice. and it means Justice.

It was great finding their names. I didn't know until they were born what their names were going to be. My husband named them all except for daughter #3. He was a total dick-head for two years.

I think names are very important when choosing. They are going to be with them all their lives. And we will be called by name when it is time to go.

(btw, I think the meaning of Debra is so cute. You're the bee's knees, honey!! XD)
Reply:They're sort of personal but have nice meanings as well:

Jennifer Catherine (Jennifer means fair and Catherine means pure). Jen(nifer) is someone who has helped me a lot and so has Catherine

Ellie-Anna Joy (Ellie means shining light, Anna means favoured grace). These were just names that I liked

Matthew Noah (Matthew means gift of the Lord and Noah means peaceful, long-lived and comforter) Matthew is the name of one of my best friends and I just like the name Noah

My name is Catherine Sarah. It means pure princess and I guess it can't fit because no-one can be pure and I'm not a princess
Reply:God wants you to be happy, so he doesn't mind if you name your children anything you like........personal or spiritual.
Reply:My Son's name is Stephen, The first Christian martyr. Hopefully that will never be the case, but that is who he was named for.
Reply:Our daughter's name came from my wife's and mine celtic roots. It seemed an appropriate thing to do.... especially since she has red hair.

My son's name was a personal choice, but combined with his middle name.... it has powerful spiritual significance

:)
Reply:My Son, Kenneth Francisco Joseph Lewis, is named after my father, Kenneth, and the man that influenced his mothers life, Francisco, positively (her real father didn't); and my shipmate Joe (20) that died. Great kid, (great love of life) he is watching over Kenny as we speak, (along with his assigned gaurdian angel of course).

So both religiously and Spiritualy is the reason for my sons name.

Peace.
Reply:My oldest is named Samuel, after the prophet, because like Hannah, I prayed fervently for a child. My youngest is Ian--Scottish for John--because his conception and birth were against all odds and he was definitely a gift from God (and my husband's family is Scottish).
Reply:My son's name means "ray of light" and was chosen for spiritual reasons.

He was born in a third world country and adopted shortly after birth. Knowing that we would adopt beyond our borders we trusted that our soul mate would shine his light from somewhere in the world and show us the way to him, hence our chosen name for him.
Reply:I chose my children's names from both personal and spiritual reasons.

my name means - of the noble sort -I'm hoping it fits.

Son 1 Omar = flourishing life -he is full of life!

Son 2 Ali = noble, sublime -fitting

Daughter 1 Mariah = bitter -doesn't fit -but she was named for my grandmother Maria who was named after the most noble woman in history -Mary mother of Jesus.

Daughter 2 Aisha = alive, or -she who lives -fitting after a very complicated pregnancy in which I had to stay in bed for 6 months.
Reply:Oh, what a lovely question! I was blessed with one child and he was so special because we thought we could never have any. When he arrived it was 20 to 8 on a beautiful October morning. He deigned to open one eye, take a brief look to check us out then promptly went to sleep. This was after a spectacularly quick entrance into the world but without any fuss or bother. I wanted to call him John in memory of the older brother I had never met. I also associate John with the apostle, the apostle of love. My husband had no such ideas. But when he held this wee scrap of humanity in his arms he named him John James. For some inexplicable reason, it fitted. Just so happens his paternal grandfather was a James and his maternal grandfather was a John. Happy coincidence.

Edit: Ecterbob, how could I have forgotten? A gift from God indeed.
Reply:I chose my children's names purely for the way they sounded.....don't have a clue what they mean.
Reply:yes, i named my son johnathan from a show about an angel who goes around helping people and his middle name from the bible(elias).
Reply:no.

i will chose my daughters name out of names i like. dunno about a boys name.

i like tiffany or alexa

Reply:Wow, you did a great job picking names! Interesting, yet names that aren't too difficult to pronounce or spell. Good job :)
Reply:Sounds like a beautiful family! Love the names! 7 girls- wow!! sounds fun. Lucky little boy, too.

Reply:I cant believe you have 8 kids! Thats amazing! It takes a very special person to raise 8 children. And God choose you to do the job so you must be a very special lady. God Bless your family.

P.s. your kids names are beautiful!
Reply:wow, I love the names-esp. charianna rose!

sorry abt your stillborn!

best wishes to you and your family!
Reply:Those are all beautiful names. I love every single one of them :)
Reply:theyre all very pretty :) sorry about your stillborn bubby :(
Reply:Sounds beautiful to me. But more importantly do the names speak to you? My children are Justice and Aidan and each name means something special to me. Have you looked up the meaning of each of these names? Right off the top of my head David means beloved. Danielle is hebrew and probably derived from (Daniel and the Lions den) meaning judged by God. Maybe you should check out a baby names website.
Reply:~Charianna Rose- I love that name...my middle name is Rose too.

~Danielle Elizabeth- I think it flows well together.

~Caroline Scarlett- I think of a sophisticated woman... I like it.

~Anabella Renee- I want to name my next daughter Annabella and call her Bella for short.

~Ansley Grace- I love anything with the name Grace with it.

~Gabriella Laine- A great combination of you and your husband... good job.

~Kelsey Marie- Kelsey has always been one of my favorite names ever.

~Kingston David James- I like it. He has a big name, but it reminds me of power and control... he is going to need that living with all those girls!

~Angel Catherine- Bless your heart... I couldn't imagine dealing with that. I know having all of those other precious girls helps but it can never take away the pain you feel for a lost one.

It sounds like you did a wonderful job naming your children. Some people like giving their children names that they are going to have trouble with their entire life. If they do finally learn to spell them, some kids will still be tortured through school for their bad names. You did a good job though.
Reply:love em
Reply:how about Catherine Reins

Dose this name go well with my other children's names. . . ?

Just found out baby #3 is gonna be a girl. Our two other babes names are Jayden Lee and Adeline Mallorie, we fell head over heals for the name Camilla Elodie. Do they go well together? If they don't any other suggestions for us?? thanks

Dose this name go well with my other children's names. . . ?
yes i think they go, and even if they didnt, i think they're all beautiful names.... congratulations!
Reply:Don't like to insult a name you've already given...but how on earth did the same people who came up with such beautiful names as 'Adeline Mallorie' and 'Camilla Elodie' also come up with 'Jayden Lee' - ugh!

sorry.

but that's too wierd to go unnoticed.

Anyway Camilla Elodie goes beautifully with Adeline Mallorie and your two girls will have wonderfully gorgeous names.
Reply:I think that Camilla Elodie is a really gorgeous name that goes really well with with your other childrens names and even if it didn't go with them it is so nice if I were you I would use it anyway..do you mind if I use Camilla Elodie for a suggestion for my baby girl??She's due in a month and still have no idea what to name her!
Reply:Oh lord! I hope to God you are kidding. Camilla sounds like camel toe. I have never even heard the name Elodie. Please give her a chance at a normal life by giving her a normal name like your other two. Their names are very nice.

Terra, Danielle, Marissa, Isabella...
Reply:Yes. I think it is a beautiful name. I love the name Adeline Mallorie, by the way. Camilla Elodie is beautiful. I also like the name Camille Elodie.
Reply:First of Congratulations ... I love the names... I also like Camilla Emily or Camilla Emma ... but i think they are all unique names. Go with what you love as long as you are fine with shouting it from the deck ..

Camilla Elodie suuupppperrrrrrrrrrrr" Good Luck
Reply:I love all the names, they go beautifully together. Congratulations and best of luck with Camilla!

My friends don't like my children's names?

I'm a widower and a mom of 4.My new friends say my children have too long names. Is that true and if so,it that bad?My name's Natalie Rose Davidson.

My children are:

Miccaela Elizabeth Kaelynn Yvette Davidson (age 9)

Emmalee Jacklynn Rachel Yvonne Davidson (age 6)

and the twins

Christina Cathryn Haylee Amyleen Davidson (age 5)

Ann Davidson (age 5)

My friends don't like my children's names?
It's not for other people to judge! If thats what you like for your children, then thats your choice. friends just have to accept it. maybe they don't realise that it offends you when they criticise you for giving your kids long names. just tell them that thats what you like and your children are happy so mind their own business!
Reply:hey darling...they're your kids and you chose their names. Be proud of your choices and your beautiful kids. Hold your head up high....if your friends feel they have a right to make comments like that then you need new friends.
Reply:A widower is a man who has lost his wife by death and has not remarried. Did you have a sex change?
Reply:They are lovely names and what's it got to do with them anyway as long as you and your children like them Bum to it, mines boring Louise Harries (Pronounced Harry's)
Reply:How can u be a widowER?! Doesn't that mean that u r dead?!

Sorry, no offence!!

I like the names, but if you and your children like them, that's all that matters!

Don't let them get u down, call your kids what you want!!
Reply:yes there great names and if your friends say no then there not real friends
Reply:just a little longer than most of us are used to but that in no way makes it a bad thing
Reply:Ok lets take a reality pill here, yes they are long but who goes around calling you by your middle names anyway, like most things in life they will get over it and used to it.
Reply:they are long, but who cares.
Reply:yes they are a bit long, but they r not bad!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Who uses there full name anyway??

My full name is Charli Jane Jason Leanne LAST NAME

Seriously DON'T WORRY!!! I only used my first and my middle initial J.

If your 'new' friends don't like it, go and find some new ones!!!

They aren't worth it. You obviously put a lot of time and effort into your children's names. As did my family, and my name consists of a lot of my families names!!!

Your kids won't care and nor should you!!
Reply:First of all, you made this up, it's quite obvious. You just wanted to write a whole whack of names on the board and get sympathy from us and have us tell you your names are good.

Three middle names for each child is excessive and just selfish on the parent's part, if you ask me. And why would you give each child three and poor 'lil Ann got none?

You crazy.
Reply:In the event that you are telling the truth (which is doubtful), Those names are way too long. And what's the deal with one twin getting a massively long name, and the other getting a really short name. Not too mention you've spelled a lot of those names a bit ridiculously.
Reply:they aren't bad but i agree there are toooo many names all together.

think if your kids having to fill out forms and applications with 3 middle names. ann lucked out

beth the others are jealous.

maybe you should consider letting the kids pick their fave middle name and go to court to change/drop the names.
Reply:SRCREWV WAT THEY SAY. THE NAMES R NICE
Reply:Some parents prefer long names... you should be proud of your children's names, don't let your friends get you under about your children's names. maybe their jelous because they like one of those names.
Reply:Your "new friends" are making a judgment based on their own opinions. You have the right to bless your children with any name or names you like or decide. It's a personal and individual choice. You go, mom, and feel good about it. I think those are very pretty names, and that's my personal opinion! Good luck, and I hope that helps you.
Reply:I bet your a really good mam too and can i just say WHAT THE HELL HAS IT GOT TO DO WITH YOUR FRIIENDS. yes the names are long but they are all lovely names and you obviously picked them for a reason or just because you liked them. Your NEW friends need to keep their opinions to themselves i would never critisise my friends for there ( personal ) choice of childrens names. Please ignore these people. love and luck to you and your children.
Reply:Did you use up all of your names before you got to Ann? I don't believe this is true. SOunds phony to me!
Reply:I don't believe you. This is ridiculous that people have seriously answered your question.
Reply:so what? tell your friends to go watch The View and come up with better things to complain about.
Reply:Hi there,

Really it dose not matter how long or short a name is. Plus it is no ones business but yours.

My children's names are quite long as each child has an individual name and two family names.

The only advice I took was from my father who told me:

If you have a boy give him a mans name. If you have a girl give her a beautiful name.

By using family names I have given my kids a link to their families past.

I don't explain my choices to any one. Neither should you. You chose your children's names with love and care. No one has the right to say that their names are wrong for you or them.

You love your kids and that is all that matters.
Reply:i love them. they are long and unique. if you type in those names on the internet, i bet you won't find the whole name except in yahoo answers lol.
Reply:i do like their names... how do you call them.?.. if you call them with their full names... it's too long!!! hahaha
Reply:if they dont like your childrens name then they are not friends and friends wouldnt say things like that

friends are there to help you out and be there for you and not put your kids down or you down
Reply:You do not have to and should not feel bad about what you have named your children. You picked something that you like and it is not for others to decide. I think that if your friends have a problem with your kids names then maybe you do not have very good friends.
Reply:Well, your children's names are a little long for my taste but they're pretty names and good combinations. Don't worry what they think. These are your four little girls and obviously you like those names. I've always thought people should do what makes them happy when it comes to naming their children.
Reply:Their names are quite long but it doesn't really matter. Wondering why Ann doesn't have any middle names when the others have three each?
Reply:I had no idea that names could be that long on a birth certificate... they are your kids you can name them whatever you want, who cares what people think.

street fighting

Are my children's names too common?

I have a 15 month old daughter named Arissah Brooke, her name was going to be Natalia Ryanne but at the last minute I changed it, and I have a 4 month old named Kailyn Harmony, her name was going to be Moriah Kaylianne and like my other daughter, we decided to change her name...do you think my daughters names are too common in the world today since most kids have unusual names?

Are my children's names too common?
I personaly dont think they are. Your daughters names are so Pretty, and even if u came acrossed 4 other people in ur life with the same names as them, it shouldnt matter... its only good taste. A baby's name is supposed to be Strong and Meaningful. I believe both names are strong and meaning full... u and there daddy did great a naming:) congrats
Reply:I think they are pretty, but you have to realize unique names are not always ablessing for the child as they will spend the rest of their life spelling it to everyone anytime they provide it for information.

My son's name is "Sylvan" and that is a name thats been around for hundreds of years and no one knows how to spell that either. Ah well.
Reply:I think those are great names.
Reply:no. i don't know anyone named that.
Reply:I don't think the names of your girls are too common. I've never heard of either names and I've lived in 10 different states, moved around 17 times in 22 years. The names are unique...not common.
Reply:no they are very pretty names. Of course as a person with a very uncommon name I have got to say being an adult and through school it was ruff for me. People thought my name was a type O or and abbrevation.
Reply:It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of your daughters names. All that matters is that you like their names.
Reply:Who cares? The only thing that should matter is that you like their names.
Reply:to be honest i have never heard those names before

but they sound great

i like them
Reply:I like them. I think that it is good to have one name that is really unusual and one that is usual but not common. I think you did that quite nicely. This way if they decide they want normal names they can go by their middle names and it will be normal but they will know very few people with their names.
Reply:They're fine names. Some parents put too much pressure on themselves to give the most creative names. Once you see who your child is as a person then you will see how unique they are. They are not their names. Some of the most interesting people I have met have common names.

After all, a rose by any other name still has thorns. Errr... I mean, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose

By any other word would smell as sweet."

Are my children's names okay My sister doesn't like them?

I have 4 1/2 children

Are my children's names okay My sister doesn't like them?
My sister doesn't like my kids' names and I don't care much for my nephew's name. But we love each others kids.
Reply:Hyrum Deleno is very unique, and i can see how others wuldnt like it

Wynn Marlo is good i like it, but i think of Wynn as a girl name, but its fine for a boy

Gaven Mark Hanson, i love the name Gaven ,

Greg James hanson is fine

Emma Jill Hanson is very cute, classy ,and great

i dont see whats not to like
Reply:Hyrum isn't my favorite, and neither is Marlo.

Deleno and Wynn are cool, though! I adore Gaven Mark, Greg James, and Emma Jill, too!
Reply:Like all the names even the middle names. LOVE Gavin. However, not crazy about Hyrum.

Congratulations on Emma. Have you considered middle naming her Leigh? Just a thought. :)
Reply:I think uniqueness is a very good quality for names :).. and Gaven really is the coolest name. I might have to name my kid Gaven now haha. Who cares what your sister thinks!! Its your little babies!!
Reply:i like Gaven,Greg,and Emma-Jill !!!

So precious, are Hyrum and Wynn Twins?
Reply:They're not favorites, but whatever floats your boat is fine with me:)

I really like Emma Jill and Greg James, tho . Theyre common so they nicely complitment the more unusual names you picked
Reply:Some of them I don't like and some of them I do. Don't worry about what your sister likes, everyone has their own opinion. As long as you like them, they're great.
Reply:I don't like the combos. Sorry.

I do like the names Gavin, Mark and James though.

Emma is ok but I prefer Emily.
Reply:Hyrum and Wynn are very unique but i actually really like all of their names. And Dont listen to ur sister. Besides its a little late to doanything about them now.

I kinda agree with your sister, no offense, the names are horrible. Please save your ONLY daughter and give her a different name before it's too late!

Reply:How can you have 4 1/2 children? Me thinks you are a Troll. Your sister is right not to like them. Who names imaginary children?
Reply:The first two names a little out there for my taste! I'm not keen on Gaven Mark either, but I do like Greg James (especially James) and Emma Jill (very cute)!

Reply:caven and emma are ok... greg is ok..... and umm maybe wynn but i say only the gaven and emma
Reply:You have half a child?

All of them are REALLY bad. Hyrum? Wynn?

Emma Jill is a good name but how about Jill Emma?
Reply:I like the names Gaven, Greg, and Emma. They are cute.
Reply:I love them. I grew up with a different name %26amp; so did my siblings. I loved having my individuality growing up.
Reply:well they are very unique, but who cares what your sister thinks? It's ultimately your decision
Reply:I'd take Delano over Hyrum as a first name any day, but beyond that, they're fine.
Reply:I think your names all sound good together.

They are cute and their your kids, not your sisters!
Reply:Definitely dont like the first two...the others ar alrit but not my cup of tea but since they are after family they are special for you
Reply:Hyrum and Wynn are a little odd, but the rest are ok.
Reply:I like them, i've never heard of the name Hyrum though.

Gaven and Emma are my Favorite.
Reply:I don't like Hyrum but i like the other ones!
Reply:i like gaven and emma
Reply:Aww I love them all! You must be exited your finally having a girl!
Reply:well, they are very unique!

but it is your decision, who cares what anyone else thinks.

Do you like my children's names?

1. Amethyst Kate Erloketz (girl-aged 12)

2. Lake Timothy Erloketz (boy-aged 10)

3. Tory James Erloketz (boy-aged 7)

4. Ember Nathaniel (boy-aged 4)

5. Jarrah Meagan (girl-aged 1)

Do you like my children's names?
I love them all! They're unique, original, and amazing! Jarrah is definitely now on my top names list, I love it! I think it's great that you were original with their names. The world really doesn't need more James, Michaels, Pauls, and Davids running around. It's getting to the point where there's five or six in every class! As middle names, they're awesome though! I love Ember Nathaniel, what a great name! The only one I'm not so fond of is Tory, just because I've always known it as a girls' name, but I'm sure if I met your son it wouldn't seem strange at all. Love your last name too, hahaa, xD. My favourite would be Jarrah Meagan, my second favourite would be Lake Timothy Erloketz, then Ember Nathaniel, then Amethyst Kate, and then Tory James.
Reply:Amethyst is the name of the crystal related to one of the birth signs. Kate is an ok middle name though.

Lake is ok but I don't like Timothy

Tory I've always known as a girls name. I like James as a middle name.

Ember im not too keen on but I like Amber for a girl Nathaniel is ok

Jarrah is unique. Im not too keen on your spelling of Megan
Reply:The first names are not really my taste, the middle names are ok.

Amethyst is ok but doesn't flow well as a name.

Jarrah is an Arabic mans name

I disagree with the other posters about Tory being a girls name. Tori is a girls name, usually a nickname for Victoria. Tory is a boys name, but is most often a nickname for Victor
Reply:Lake is ridiculous.

Tory is a member of the British Conservative party.

Ember speaks for itself

Jarrah is absurd.

Meagan is misspelt.

Kate, Timothy, James and Nathaniel are fine. You should have stopped there.

You did ask.
Reply:Yes. I like your creativity. They're unusual without going WAY over the top.

Mine are Sebastian Culver, Indiana Ashlyn Skye and the one of the way is Samson Blake. This gives you an idea of my taste, but I do like your's as well (though I would never name my own children these)
Reply:Not really. You seem to mix girls names %26amp; boys names for kids of the opposite sex, such as Tory James for a boy, when tory is often a girls name.
Reply:I like the names Kate, Timothy, James, Nathaniel and Meagan, but not the first names.
Reply:no

They're all trendy and pretentious.

Jarrah is an Australian tree so it's up there with Lake. I'm not fond of names for ecological nouns.

Ember: a hot coal from a fire; how silly
Reply:The only one i dnt like is Ember for a boy. Thats too much like Amber for a girl. They are lovely names tho.
Reply:They can always go by their middle names.... Seriously, their first names are ridiculous.
Reply:i like amethyst %26amp; lake %26amp; ember
Reply:Way too out there for me, I actually really like all of your second names very much
Reply:Not especially, but my opinion is hardly important. I'm not you, your partner or any of your kids!
Reply:Yes. Why because they're different, how many Amethysts, Lakes, Embers do you think you'd find in one classroom?
Reply:I really like the middle names, but not so much the first.
Reply:Ew...I'm sad that you already named them cause they literally all are horrid.
Reply:Sorry, no.
Reply:they are nice and unique names! well done for putting yourself out there!!!!
Reply:Sorry, but I don't like them
Reply:ehhhh .....
Reply:er...
Reply:they are special names.. u dont hear this names too often :P
Reply:No sorry....don't really like them! But they are your children so if your happy! Thats what counts

My friends don't like my children's names?
New user, only 77 points, Q%26amp;A is private, I call BULLSH*T.

Go play around on popgames.com, and leave the nice parents alone.
Reply:Well it's a little too late now isn't it? Change the subject or change your friends.

PS: If you're a lady you're a widow. A widower is a man whose wife has died.
Reply:Screw your friends!! That is something they should have said behind your back...cuz those are some ridiculously long names....
Reply:They are your children and you and their father named them and that is all that matters. My daughter has four names. Back in the olden days it was like a status symbol. The more names you had the more prestiguis you were. Just tell your friends that when they have kids they can name them whatever they want. I think they sound beautiful. You rock girl
Reply:doesn't matter what they think and no one calls them by their who name any way.

they will mostly be using their first and last names and most everything anyway.

I have never seen anyone with 3 middle names but I have seen plenty with 1 or 2

oh yeah I am also curious, what happened to Ann's middle names? why is she the only one without a middle name?
Reply:They are long names but who cares. They are you children and your decision to name them. Tell your friend to mind her own business.
Reply:im sure you just call your kids by their first name only, its none of their buisness, dont worry

and yeah, u did give them long names, good idea, i had heaps of names picked when pregnant, i didnt realise i could have used them all, lol,
Reply:Either way they are your children why do you care what your friends say . I mean really you named your children what you named them for a reason... I think you have enough to worry about with out caring what your "friends" think
Reply:Those are ridiculously long names (except Ann), and I feel sorry for your children.
Reply:I am just wondering if its your custom to give long names. Are you honoring any relatives? My middle name is honoring my grandmother. I would tell your friends that they are being rude. Personally, its worse when your first name can be either for a boy or girl like "Darcey", "Tracey", etc.

There is nothing wrong with the names. It actually sounds to me like their very important and prominent in society.
Reply:Did you run out of names by the time you got to Ann??
Reply:Your friend got nothing to do with the names of your children. The names were kept under certain circumstances. Whether is is too long or too short it does not matter with you.
Reply:I was gonna name my kid Beagley, (girl), but my husband refused! Who cares what your friends think of your kids names? The only person who you should care what they think was your husband, who must have agreed.
Reply:they are some long names
Reply:So what if your friends don't like your childrens names. It doesn't mean anything now, does it!

Everyone has different likes and dislikes that's all - so long as they're not judging the child by their name then why worry?

grappling

Tell me what you think of my future children's names?

Girls:

Genevieve Elise

Audrey Camille

Boys:

Cadel William (pronounced kah-DELL)

Nathaniel Charles

Tell me what you think of my future children's names?
Genevieve is lovely. Audrey, also.

I'm not so sure about Cadel, although Nathaniel, or Nate sounds nice.
Reply:I think Audrey Elise sounds best, I don't particularly like the names Genevieve or Camille. How about Georgia, Adalie, Eloise (Lulu for short), or Harper?

I only like Nathaniel and William for boys, Cadel is rather odd to me and Charles is not a name that I've ever liked. How about Nolan, Elias, or Matthias?
Reply:Audrey %26amp; Camille are 2 of my favorite girl names. Audrey (after my favorite actress Audrey Hepburn- super classy lady) %26amp; Camille has the cutest nickname for a lil girl- Cami... I also love Nathaniel! And Cadell is so unusual!
Reply:Girls:

Genevieve Elise- pretty

Audrey Camille- I like it

Boys:

Cadel William (pronounced kah-DELL)- I just like William

Nathaniel Charles- cute

Reply:I really like Audrey Elise. Nathaniel is a very strong/powerful name, I love it. Charles just adds more strength and class. Wonderful name.
Reply:Genevieve was my Grandmother name.

I love it but I am bias...lol

I don't like Nathaniel much but I know someone who was named that and he did me wrong.

Cadel is cute and Different. I like it
Reply:I like Audrey, Elise (elle-cee), Nathaniel
Reply:I love all of them except for Nathaniel Charles... it fits with the others, but not one of my favorites. Cute names though!
Reply:they sound old fashioned except for Cadel
Reply:I love them all except Cadel.
Reply:i like audrey camille for a girl %26amp; cadel charles for a boy.
Reply:i like all of them except cadel.
Reply:I'm not a fan of Genevieve, Camille, or Cadel. All of the other names are some of my favorites though!

I am trying to find Duke Pearson's children's names & where they are?

I am his daughter and have seen my father once when I was 12 and he was very ill. I know he passed away in 1980 and realized only then that there were other siblings. He always told me that I had a brother in NYC. I was thinking about reaching out to my other siblings.

Why did you choose your children's names? ?

we liked the first names and the middle name is a family name.

We had the oldest 2 names picked out before we got married. Our son's name was what my mother-in-law wanted for my husband but she got vetoed.

My middle name is my mother's, my daughter's and my granddaughter's middle name - 4 generations!

Why did you choose your children's names? ?
i choose names for my children that meant something special to my husband and i- our son was named after a very good friend of ours and my daughter's first name means message from God- my grandmother helped me pick it out. Her middle name is after my favourite aunt.

My third child is due in march- if it's a girl we are using a variant on my grandmothers name as her middle name and if it's a boy his middle name will be my father's name.
Reply:My husband and his best friend made a promise to each other that they would name their first born after each other. His best friend's first son was born with a spinal cord defect and didn't want to name him after my husband, for fear that he wouldn't live long. When he and his wife had their second son, they named him after my husband.

When we found out we were pregnant, if it was a boy, his name would be Jesse (after hubby's best friend), and if it was a girl, Jessica. We ended up having a girl, and named her Jessica Renee. My sister picked the middle name, because my mom wanted to name me Tiffany Renee. We call my daughter Jessie for short.
Reply:Middle name was family

The first name, for the boy we agree on a name in on the first day we found out we were pregnant

Of course, we had a girl. It took eight months

We both have to like the name, it had to go with the last name

We both liked names, but did not go with the last

We agree on Hayley in the eighth month

It when with the last name, we both like it, so that how we got her name
Reply:We got pregnant while in college... We were boyfriend and girlfriend... So at the time it didn't seem like the ideal situation.

But as soon as we found out and got over the shock we talked about names and my now husband immediately said Jack for a boy. Jack is an acronym for his best friends in college. (John, Andy, Cameron (my husband) and Kevin) We decided to go with Jackson just because I didn't like just Jack... -l0l-

Then his middle name is my maiden name. Since we weren't married when we got pregnant, I wanted him to have some of me...

That's how we got his name...

Jackson McClain. :)

...I like it... :)
Reply:we adopted so they were already named.

we did the middle names though and changed the names some.

Raymond Jay is now Jayson Raymond

Emily Nicole is now Emily Christine

Nicholas jacob is now Nicholas Anthony

Steven julian is now steven lee

middles are family names
Reply:Liked the first names and the middle names are family names.
Reply:Because they have personal meaning to us. I don't have any yet, but they will have specific, already chosen names.
Reply:i choose Richard because it's my son's dads name and it's a strong name
Reply:I have no children.
Reply:i liked them

Do you like my Children's names?

I have unique names for my children, and I get mixed reactions? What do you think?

Lane Douglas (son)

Lynkin LaeReign pronounced (Lincoln) for my daughter

Locklynn Olivia (daughter)

Do you like my Children's names?
Those are beautiful names. My daughter's name is Zoey. You know the names are right when you type them on the computer and you get the dreaded "red line" underneath letting you know the spelling is wrong. I admire your desire to instill a sense of individuality and uniqueness with each of your children. Don't worry what others say or about the reactions. You love your kids, they love you.
Reply:Lane Douglas is nice but I don't like your daughters' names. Lynkin?
Reply:I don't like the spelling for Lynkin. But the others are ok, i don't think its good if you have to specify the gender though
Reply:i think i'd like olivivia locklynn better than locklynn olivia and i think i prefer the traditional spelling of lincoln but otherwise they're all really great names
Reply:Urp. Those are dreadful. Olivia is ok but way too overused. Douglass is good.
Reply:No, they sound like lord of the rings characters. A childs name should not make you feel proud of yourself, they should suit the child.
Reply:I like Lane, Lynkin and Locklynn without their middle names. Very nursery-rhymeish, It's wonderful!
Reply:i love it! I have to agree it is unique
Reply:Love Olivia but think Layne is a girls name
Reply:I think those are beautiful and unique names.
Reply:Love the names very unique and creative.
Reply:Lynkin is really unique... I like different spellings b/c my name is spelled differently!! It's hot!
Reply:NO! Do you want them to get beat up?
Reply:I like Lane.

But Lynkin I'm not too fond of

And I've never heard Locklynn before but it's not my favorite
Reply:The problem is that they are going to be their whole life having to spell it out for everyone. They will probably end up keeping the simplest one.
Reply:Lane Douglas is good. It's normal but somewhat trendy.

Locklynn Olivia is good. Same thing.

Both are sophisticated.

Lynkin LaeReign sounds like you just got back from a concert and can't think straight. Please don't saddle your kid with a name like that.

Sorry, you asked.
Reply:The names are fine, and unusual. However, I would want my own name to mean something. Do your children's names mean anything in particular, or did they just sound good to you? Just something to think about. Besides, when I say "Lynkin, Locklynn, and Lane," I can't help thinking "Winkin, Blinkin, and Nod."
Reply:Pretty cool
Reply:Sorry, just the boy's name.
Reply:Hey,

I love them!

great names very unique but love them...

Cassie xxx
Reply:i really like them very unique. i really like the unusual and unique name.
Reply:My high school typing teachers name was Miss Lane Loiselle. I have never heard of anyone else with that particular name until now. Please don't name your child Lynkin LaeReign. Are you a fan of Linkin Park or something? If so, name her after a band member instead.
Reply:I think there unique and I love them...
Reply:Lane Douglas sounds alright but the other 2 i wouldnt go with...

im guessing the 2nd names of those are gonna be middle names since their all different right?
Reply:Lane I like, Douglas not so much...Lynkin is also cute, im not sure how to pronounce the middle name on that one though. Locklynn...im not sure where that came from...if I were her, id go by Olivia, which is much cuter. It really doesnt matter now that they are named and if you love the names then thats all the matters...who cares what anyone thinks right? If youre worried about kids in school..well every kid gets made fun of it doesnt matter if her name is Ashley or Lincoln...kids are cruel either way, they dont care what your name is. Dont stress about it, im sure your kids are beautiful anyway!
Reply:I personally don't like them. But I'm not one for unique names, so I guess I'm not the best person to be answering.
